I regularly get asked how will the Tandoor last and how will perform after several months. Well my Tandoor has been up and running for 14 months. In this time it has always remained in the garden, come sun rain, and the winter snow and ice. Also I have regularly use the oven throughout the seasons, and the oven is working as well as it did on the first day. I do have some cracks in the bottom inner pot, but it does not affect the performance. But I will let you make up your own mind by watching the video I made reviewing the oven.
Here is a Cajun Steak inspired by an amazing steak I had in New Orleans several years ago. It was so good I went back the following night and had the same again. I have tried to reproduce, and although the one here is good, it hasn't captured that evening again for me. But I am still working on it, and when I get the perfect Cajun mix I will share with you all.
In the mean time watch this video of me cooking a tasted Cajun Rump Steak. OK OK, you are now saying Rump Steak! that is only cooking for stewing. Well I brought it by mistake, and after a bit of bashing it was very tender. It was a very big piece of meat and a bit of the side was chewy, but the bulk of the meat was tender. I was particularly please as this was part of a M&S £10 meal. So I had a started, main, side, desert and a bottle of wine for £10. Any look at the size and thickness of the steak!
Well what can I say?
