Ash’s Clay Pizza Oven

Here is a lovely clay pizza oven built by Ash. He started with the classic sand dome which he covered with clay. In the picture on the right you can see the core clay oven with the insulation on top of that. The shape is being held in place with sand and bricks whilst it dried.

On the left we see the completed oven with a rendered coat. Note how Ash has created a smooth run to the edge so the water runs off. He used a pre mixed bag of render from B&Q, then add a water proof agent to the mix that came as a pink liquid.
